Infinite Stratos and Date A Live be considered mecha? usually mecha involves giant robots and whatnot

my favs would be
gundam wing i remember watching this on 7 druring my childhood
macross series love triangles singing mecha what more can you ask for :3

Infinite Stratos, yes. Not sure about Date A Live, the mecha is only a side-plot.

Anything and everything from the Macross saga. Macross (and its contemporary Gundam) tops the real robot anime genre for me, although I prefer Macross over Gundam hands down.
